Troubleshooting the Sensor V2
This guide is for users experiencing freezing or disconnection issues with the Sensor V2. Please follow it carefully, and in the correct order!
1. USB 3.0 port
Please make sure your sensor is connected directly to a USB port on the back of the PC. Please try and use a USB 3.0 (Blue) rather than USB 2.0 port (Black). Do not use a USB multiplug, or a USB port on a monitor.
2. Registry Fix
Follow this guide (Link will open on a new page)
and return to this page and continue with step 3 if the fix is unsuccessful
2. Windows camera access
Open this webpage on the PC that your sensor V2 is connected too. Copy and paste the following into another browser window and press enter: 'ms-settings:privacy-webcam?activationSource=SMC-Article-13753'
Then, click open settings. Make sure that the 'Camera access' option and the 'Let apps access your camera' is set to On. Now close that window, restart trackhat opentrack, and try tracking again.
If that didn't help, continue to stage 3
3. Edit Power Plan
Press the windows key and search for 'edit power plan'. Press enter, and then click 'change advanced power settings'. Click 'USB settings' and then 'USB selective suspend setting'. Change the setting to 'Disabled', and then click 'Apply'.
If you also use other power plans (usually only laptop users) please apply it to the other power plans as well using the drop-down at the top.
4. Disabling ERP (warning, technical)
If this does not help, next please try disabling ErP in your computer's BIOS settings. Please refer to the manual for your computers motherboard for specific guidance on disabling ErP. Please note that not all motherboards have ErP functions.
If this does not help, then please try the following fix as well: https://www.trackhat.org/registryfix
